Instant Theatre: Toward a Sustainable Culture of PeaceFacilitator: Lee GershunyArtistic Director of The Elements World Theatre What it is: Workshops enabling participants to present short scenes (2 to 3 minutes) in public places that demonstrate our ability to stop in the midst of conflict, connect to inner wisdom, playfulness and creativity and resolve a conflict situation without the use of force, threat or abuse. Before we present each scene, we invite potential observers to decide whether they want to see the demonstration or not. We provide a leaflet letting the observer know our aims and how to contact us if they choose to. To date, the feedback has been exceedingly positive from both participants and invited observers. Who: The actors are ordinary people of different cultural backgrounds, ages and work and life experience. They have all participated in our workshops and are committed to making a culture of peace sustainable. When: At times convenient to workshop participants throughout the year Where: Wherever we are welcome in public places, convenient to participants. The workshop is usually held in the same venue as the demonstration of our short scenes. |
